This is the third annual day of the Astrophysics Axis of the Graduate School of Physics at the University of Paris-Saclay.The Astrophysics Axis aims to bring together astrophysics research in all laboratories on campus.

Schedule of the day :

Most of the day will be dedicated to 15-minutes presentations by doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers from Paris-Saclay. There will also be a panel discussion on the use of 3D visualization tools for research. Finally, posters can be presented by students beginning their thesis.

Organising Committee :

  • Alain ABERGEL, Frédéric BOURNAUD, Sandrine COUTURIER, Frédéric GALLIANO, Thomas GAUTIER, Dimitra KOUTROUMPA, Vianney LEBOUTEILLER, Aline MEURIS, Sabrina SOCCARD, Laurent VERSTRAETE, Mathieu VINCENDON.

Call for Contributions for the Astrophysics and Visualization Workshop :

Faced with the challenges of ever better resolved observations, ever more simulations more precise and ever more complex models, are we ready to understand this growing scientific wealth?
This “Astrophysics & Visualization” workshop aims to discuss personal initiatives and their implementation in practice to represent results beyond the usual figures. We will be able to address the following areas:
- Visualize and study complex data (3D, multi-dimensionality, simulations, etc.)
- Implement original initiatives (virtual reality, 3D printing, etc.)
- Transmit these results in open access (incorporation in articles, catalog, interactive online interfaces, etc.)
- Any other ideas are welcome!
This workshop will close the day. You can submit a short contribution (3 to 5 minutes) to leila.godinaud@cea.fr, no later than October 9.
