Présentation du laboratoire

Le centre MetaGenoPolis (MGP) étudie l'impact de l'alimentation sur le microbiote intestinal (humain et animal), et l'impact de ce dernier sur la santé et la maladie. Il met à disposition de la communauté médicale, de la recherche et de l'industrie les dernières avancées sur la connaissance de ce microbiote grâce à sa grande expertise en métagénomique quantitative et fonctionnelle. MGP a développé de nombreuses autres expertises notamment dans la standardisation des procedures certifiée par un label ISO9001. Cette approche intégrée est construite sur les connaissances établies par le projet Européen MetaHIT, publiées notamment dans le journal Nature (establishment of a broad gene catalogue of the human intestinal metagenome et discovery of the three human enterotypes), ainsi que la caractérisation du microbiote intestinal pour deux maladies chroniques (obésité et maladie inflammatoire des intestins) et les premiers criblages haut-débit de banques métagénomiques en vue d'une analyse fonctionnelle. Les principaux domaines de recherche de MetaGenoPolis sont la nutrition et le domaine médical. Actuellement, MGP travaille sur 16 projets : 12 projets industriels et 4 projets européens.
