Présentation du laboratoire

Le laboratoire Evolution, Génomes, Comportement, Ecologie (EGCE) étudie l'évolution de la biodiversité en utilisant une démarche multi-échelle (du génome à la communauté d'espèce). Il allie l'expérimentation et la modélisation. Les modèles d'études sont les insectes (abeilles, drosophiles, lépidoptères) xénopes, poissons, amphibiens. Ces recherches incluent des travaux sur les comportements reproducteurs et alimentaires ainsi que l'adaptation aux changements environnementaux. Les problématiques de réchauffement climatique et d'anthropisation des milieux posent aujourd'hui des questions d'importance socio-économique majeure : nouvelles sources alimentaires, protection de la biodiversité, bio-contrôle (insectes ravageurs de cultures et vecteurs de maladies humaines).
Des programmes sont notamment développés en partenariat avec les pays du sud par les chercheurs de l'IRD membres du laboratoire.
