Climate change in the Arctic – scientific and societal perspectives

At UVSQ-Paris-Saclay, the 'Arctic Studies' program is backed by laboratories of excellence such as the LSCE and the LATMOS, which make UVSQ the 4th best university worldwide in Atmosphere Science and Meteorology (CRWU ranking), 40th in Earth Sciences (ARWU or Shanghai Ranking) and part of the 101-150th Group in Environmental Science and Engineering (ARWU). Biological interactions : from genes to ecosystems

The LabEx summer school will take place in the French Pyrenees, in a beautiful setting at the foot of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre. Opened to Master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral students from all over the world, this seventh edition constitutes a unique opportunity to meet international speakers coming to Occitania. Entirely in English, this summer school in integrative biology and ecology is part of the TULIP LabEx training program. It consists in plenary sessions and intensive workshops, and covers all aspects of interactions among organisms ranging from the molecular up to the eco-evolutionary scale of interactions within populations and communities (genetic, molecular, physiological, behavioural, populational, evolutionary and ecological aspects of interactions between organisms and between organisms and their environment, in microbial, plant and animal biology).

From single molecule to cell; from fundamentals to applications

The main research and training expertise of the UEVE-Paris-Saclay and Genopole campus concerns modern Genomics and its applications to humans and industry. To that end, research and training includes all the basic aspects of genomics together with other sciences that are needed for its success i.e. bioinformatics, statistics, big data, physics and chemistry. Furthermore, to foster applications, research is developed in close relationship with start-ups and companies that are incubated on the campus.

As such, we offer a high-level summer school with lectures, conferences, bibliographic projects, and experimental work in the very heart of our laboratories. The school will consider personalized medicine, synthetic and systemic biology, human pluripotent stem cells, biotherapies, structure-function relationships of macromolecular assemblies, biomimetic nanopores for biology and biotechnologies. Particle Physics - Supersymmetric Localization and Exact Results

Significant progress has been made in the study of gauge theories in the last decade. Thanks to the discovery of novel techniques and especially supersymmetric localization, the field now possesses a plethora of exact results that previously seemed unreachable. Starting with the work of Nekrasov who computed the instanton partition function for N=2 theories in four dimensions, Pestun computed the exact partition function on a four-sphere for theories with N=2 supersymmetry. Shortly after the partition functions as well as other observables in various spacetime dimensions and compact manifolds were computed.

Our school aims in deepening the understanding of current results and at investigating which of our current methods are transferable to theories with less supersymmetry, as well as trying to increase the list of possible observables that are computable via localization. Each week would feature three or four speakers giving one lecture per day. During the first week, in addition to these three one hour and a half lectures there would be discussion and homework sessions in the afternoon. During the second week, some of the lectures would be replaced by talks on more advanced topics.
