Summary:

Summary:

Introducing the French Agricultural System

Over two weeks, students will get into the French agricultural system, research, education, and extension systems through lectures by Professors of AgroParisTech, member institution of Université Paris-Saclay, and high-level speakers from the political, institutional and business world. Students and professors from Penn State University will attend the summer university. Among others, the topics raised will be French Agricultural
Policy (positions with respect to CAP, WTO), Food Quality and Safety Policies, GMO Issues, and Crop Protection & Pesticides Management.

This summer school is aimed at Ph.D. students, postdocs and engineers with abackground in mathematics, fluid mechanics or environmental science, who wish to learn more about environmental fluid dynamics. The school includes four “core” courses on: the fundamentals of fluid dynamics, flow instabilities, environmental fluid dynamics & cryosphere, and atmosphere & ocean. In addition to the core lectures given each year, applied lectures will be given on more specific topics chosen by the invited lecturers such as renewable energies, bioconvection, physical oceanography, geological flows, and climate change.

What distinguishes this school from other similar events is that the lectures are supported by many numerical and experimental afternoon sessions, where students are able to get hands-on experience in the physical processes studied in the lectures.

DIGICOSME, the Université Paris-Saclay digital initiative, is organizing a spring school on 5G and the Internet of Things for graduate students from institutes throughout France, Europe and beyond. The objective of the school is to provide students with the opportunity:

There is an increasing need for Software Security and Protection due to the growing sensitivity of user data coupled with the ubiquitous nature of computing systems ranging from tiny embedded devices to powerful data centers. The International Summer School on Information Security and Protection (ISSISP) highlights this need by bringing internationally renowned  speakers from diverse fields in Computer Science such as Software Engineering, Formal Methods, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems and Compiler design into Software Security and Protection.
