The Master in Economics is a general training conducted jointly by Ecole Polytechnique, ENSAE, ENS Cachan, HEC and the University of Paris Sud. The objective of this two-year program is to prepare students for a PhD in Economics.

Objectifs pédagogiques
The Master in Economics is oriented towards research in economics, at the highest international level. The objective is to offer the best possible formation to students that are willing to a do a PhD in Economics.
The teaching load has been defined in a way that best exploits the strength of the different partners at Université Paris-Saclay. The quantitative component is important with various courses in econometrics or applied statistics. The first year is devoted to fundamental courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, plus a small number of optional courses. It includes a mandatory internship.

All courses offered in the Master in Economics are related to strategic research axes in University Paris Saclay. The training thus offers courses in quantitative economics, microeconomics and macroeconomics. The M2 year is organized around several fields (finance, economic theory, industrial organization, international and spatial economics, macroeconomics, public economics, labor economics, econometrics). The laboratories associated to University Paris Saclay offer funding for students that are willing to engage in a PhD after their Master. They can also host students willing to do their first year internship in an academic environment.

This master's programs offer additional services. These programs require specific tuition fees in addition to the mandatory fees.
Tuition fees for the first academic year: 6 000 €
Some students may be eligible for a fee waiver.
The Master in Economics will exploit international partnerships with Antwerpen University, Berkeley University, Columbia University, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Harbin Institute of Technology, Humboldt University, Johns Hopkins University, London School of Economics, Mannheim University, National Taiwan University, Université de Montréal and HEC-Montréal, University of Bologna, University of Galatasaray, University of Texas at Austin as well as with all the European universities involved in the Master Erasmus Mundus "Economics and Management of Network Industries".
