How to get to the Institut Pascal building

Institut Pascal is situated on the Orsay campus of the Université Paris-Sud, approximately 25 km south-west of Paris. The campus is accessible from Paris via the RER B and the building can be reached in approximately 50 minutes from the Châtelet-Les Halles station in the center of Paris. The address of the building is 530 rue Andre Riviere, Orsay (GPS coordinates: 48◦42024.200N2◦10038.100E).

Below you will find detailed instructions about how to reach the institute, but we also highly recommend that you dowload the free RATP routing app (hereto your smartphone as it is an excellent navigation aid and will provide you with all of the RER schedule information and line updates. From Paris by Public Transport

Take the RER B in the direction of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse or Orsay-Ville. Get off the train at the Orsay Ville station.

You can then take bus number 7 from Orsay Ville l’Yvette (more information and schedules here).

To get to the bus stop, go down the stairs from the train platform, then turn left in the underground passageway so that you can exit on rue Georges Clemenceau, and almost immediately right on rue Elisa Desjobert. The bus stop is approximately 40 metres downhill from the train station.

Get off the bus at the bus stop called 'De Broglie'. The building is just a 2 minute walk from this bus stop.

The bus takes around 8 minutes to get to our building from Orsay-Ville Train station.

You may choose to walk for 22 minutes from the train station to the IPa building, but please be warned that the path involves walking up a steep hill!

 

From Paris by Car

Take the Autoroute A6/A10 from the Porte d’Orléans or the Route Nationale N118 from the Sèvres bridge. The address of the building is 530 rue Andre Riviere, Orsay.

 

From Roissy (Charles de Gaulle) airport

Take the RER B  train at the airport, in the direction of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse or Orsay-Ville. Get off the train at the Orsay Ville station. 

You can then take bus number 7 from Orsay Ville l’Yvette (more information and schedules here).

Take the Orlyval train to the Antony station (terminus), then the RER B in the direction of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse or Orsay-Ville. Get off the RER train at the station called Orsay-Ville.

From Massy TGV train station

Take the RER B in the direction of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse and get off the train at Orsay Ville or take the bus 91.06B, 91.06C or 91.10 (more bus information and schedules here).

To get to the Institut Pascal (IPa) building from other locations:

Bus 9 from Le Guichet: (further information and schedules here)
You will need to take the bus at Le Guichet and get off at the Université Paris Saclay bus stop and then walk. Below you will find a map. It takes around 17 minutes to get to the building from Le Guichet.

Bus 7 from Orsay: (more information and schedules here)
You need to take the bus 7 from Orsay Ville l’Yvette – Important: The Orsay-Ville l’Yvette bus stop is not the one in front of the RER Station. If you're coming from Paris, when exiting the Orsay-Ville RER-B station, you must take the tunnel on the left (if you're coming from Gif-sur-Yvette or Saint-Remy les Chevreuses, take the stairs to the tunnel). When exiting the tunnel turn left on rue Georges Clemenceau, and almost immediately right on rue Elisa Desjobert. The bus stop is approximately 45 metres downhill.

Bus 11 from Gif-sur-Yvette: (more information and schedules here)

You can catch this bus at the Gif-sur-Yvette RER station. You will need to get off the bus at the stop named 'De Broglie', and from there the IPa building is just a 2 minute walk.

From the Hotel d'Orsay you can catch the line 7 bus at the bus stop called Launay (In the direction of Plateau de Moulons - Corbeville). The walk takes about 8 minutes.You will then need to get off the bus at the stop called 'De Broglie'. From that bus stop, it is just a very quick walk to the institute (1 or 2 minutes). Walking Options

Please note that all of the walking paths from the hotels and train stations are steep!

Walk from Le Guichet: It takes between 15 and 20 minutes. After getting off at Le Guichet go in the direction of the shops and cross the street. Continue to the right and turn left to take Rue de la Colline, then turn right to take Chemin du Bois des Rames and continue straight to rue Belvedere (Please see map below). Please be warned that the path involves walking up a steep hill!

To walk from the Hotel d'Orsay: (Please see map below) Head south on rue François Leroux toward allée du Coteau, then turn right onto rue de Verdun, then continue onto rue de Chevreuse, then turn right onto rue du Doyen Joseph Pères, then turn slightly right at rue du Doyen Joseph Pères, then turn left onto rue du Belvédère, then turn right onto rue André Rivière. Here is a Google map of this walkPlease be warned that the path involves walking up a steep hill!

To walk from Residhome to the institute: Head east on rue de la Guyonnerie, then turn left  after 34m, then turn right after 110m, then take a slight left after 600m metres, then turn left toward rue du Belvédère, then turn right onto rue André Rivière Here is a map of this walk Please be warned that the path involves walking up a steep hill!
