Chemistry is a multifaceted science, present at many Université Paris-Saclay institutions.
Research teams in the Chemistry Department cover most of the subject spectrum in the discipline: the development and synthesis of molecules and materials with new properties, their characterisation, and the study of mechanisms governing their interactions and transformations; in vitro and "in silico" experiments in the design of industrial processes and applications; and the isolated molecule in complex assemblies and composite systems.
An important aspect of chemistry is its interface with many scientific fields (Life sciences, Health sciences, Physics, Mechanics and Mathematics). Innovative, multidisciplinary projects are thereby encouraged, some based on joint platforms.
The Chemistry Department is designed as a cross-disciplinary structure for reflection, consultation and advice in the organisation and development of chemistry research, education and innovation at the Université Paris-Saclay.
