Nanotechnologies and ultimate instrumentation

The development of quantum science and technology benefits from the expertise of the Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, located in the heart of the Paris-Saclay area. This is one of the largest nanotechnology platforms in the world, with its 3,000 m2 cleanroom, which is dedicated to academic research and accessible to companies. Cutting edge nanotechnology research takes place there, in partnership with smaller, specialized nanofabrication workshops, together with companies located in the area.

The platform also comprises unique scientific instrumentation in electronics (very low noise transistors), ultimate cryogenics (very low temperature, very low vibration levels), high frequency signal generation and detection, materials growth (for example, semiconductors and graphene), very low noise lasers and so on.

LNE, the French national metrology institute, involves, in Université Paris-Saclay, for the initiative on quantum sciences and technologies, its exceptional installations dedicated to high-precision and high-accuracy electrical measurements of quantum systems.
