It will also enable students to acquire knowledge of techniques for studying natural behavior in different species, as well as the study of their cellular and molecular bases. More specifically, this course will enable to understand the neural mechanisms underlying social behavior, navigation, decision-making, and the evolution of brain structures in relation to specific behaviors.

Objectifs d'apprentissage

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

- Acquire general knowledge on the main thematics in neuroethology

- Analyze and interpret scientific publications in neuroethology

- Present a research project or scientific article in neuroethology clearly and concisely to an academic audience

- Conceive an experiment in neuroethology, using the appropriate behavioral and neurophysiological approaches

Organisation générale et modalités pédagogiques

This unit includes 16h of lectures (9 topics) providing an overview of the brain mechanisms underlying animal behavior in an evolutionary and adaptive context.
