The IPCC, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has elected the executive committee of its new Bureau October 5, 2015.
The French climatologist Valérie Masson Delmotte ( LSCE) is co-chairman of the working group on climate knowledge. Ms. Masson-Delmotte will be responsible, together with his Chinese counterpart Panmao Zhai coordinate, under the 6th IPCC report, the work of several hundred scientists on the synthesis of climate change observations, causes and mechanisms and on the future evolution of climate projections.
Valérie Masson-Delmotte ensures the continuity of the French representation for 25 years in the IPCC Bureau, succeeding Jean Jouzel and Michel Petit.
The various IPCC reports provide all governments the scientific data in the areas of mitigation and adaptation are essential to make the decisions necessary to accelerate the transition to low-carbon economies and resilient to climate change.
