Since 2016, the University's doctoral college and doctoral schools have been engaged in a "continuous improvement process" under standard ISO9001-2015.

After Université Paris-Sud, which had engaged in a continuous improvement process 6 years before UPSaclay was established, Université Paris-Saclay has continued along this path in an effort to pool best practices between all actors involved.

Implementing the "quality management" standard (its official denomination) was an opportunity for us to set up a framework and a set of methods that are conducive to the management of joint activities in a multi-stakeholder, evolving context such as that of UPSaclay. This includes, for instance, the satisfaction surveys that are conducted yearly among doctoral students and their thesis directors.

Within this context, since December 2016, Université Paris-Saclay has been engaged in an ISO 9001-2015 quality management certification process regarding all of its doctoral training activities.

Following the external audits conducted by Bureau Veritas on December 4 and 5, 2018, the University was able to renew its certification for 2019, with a very positive audit report.

This year was very special because after working with a consultant for two years, it was the first time the teams were "on their own" to carry out internal audits. Twelve participants - some involved in doctoral training, some from environments unrelated to doctoral schools - have been trained and obtained the IRCA label, making them ISO 9001-2015 auditors. Following their training, the new auditors were able to apply their methods to the internal audits of the doctoral schools and the doctoral college.

Our gratitude goes to all those who contributed to this result. We look forward to next year's edition!
