On 19 September 2017, Université Paris-Saclay signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yonsei University. Ranked among the first 5 universities of Korea, renowned in medicine, bioengineering and chemistry, Yonsei University cooperates with ENS Paris-Saclay via the international research network GDRI FUN-MOOD “Functional Material for Organic Optics, Electronics and Devices”, and Université Paris-Sud and Université de Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines have welcomed several doctoral students from Yonsei University.

The aim of the MOU is to develop exchanges and lead to the establishment of joint PhDs in the long run. More generally, the fields of cooperation discussed were those of bioengineering, health and law. The first two are among the priorities defined by the 6th Franco-Korean joint Commission for scientific and technological cooperation, which took place in April 2016 in Paris.

Korea ranks 4th in the world for outgoing student mobility. An agreement was signed in November 2015 on the mutual recognition of studies and diplomas towards the pursuit of studies in the higher education institutions of the French Republic and the Republic of Korea in order to foster student exchanges.
