On 21 September 2017, Université Paris-Saclay (UPSaclay) signed a double degree agreement for a common Master’s degree in Optics with Novosibirsk State University – NSU. Following on from the Memorandum of Understanding signed with UPSaclay on 16 June, this agreement benefits from the partnerships previously established by certain member institutions (cooperation in optics and nanoscience with ENSTA, Institut d’Optique Graduate School, Télécom ParisTech, Ecole polytechnique, and Université Paris-Sud). NSU is one of the best Russian universities in basic sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology). Created in the mid-1950s on the site of Akademgorodok, a Siberian city-campus entirely dedicated to research, this Russian university is among the top 7 of 21 major institutions laureates of the Russian “5-100-2020” excellence academic and internationalisation programme.
