A flagship project for Université Paris-Saclay, the Learning Center will be built on the Paris-Saclay urban campus during the course of 2020. The architectural project of the Beaudouin Architectes agency in partnership with MGM Arquitectos has just won the Spanish international prize of architecture 2017, awarded by the Higher Colleges of Architects of Spain.

The Learning Center—at once a library, an outreach venue and a collaborative workspace, with a surface area of approximately 10,000 sq.m—will foster exchanges between students, faculty, entrepreneurs and the residents of the plateau.

Commissioned by Université Paris-Saclay with the urban planning and development authority EPA Paris-Saclay, which is overseeing the construction project, the building will house:

  • A wide-range of documents from the collection of the ENS Paris-Saclay, CentraleSupélec and Université Paris-Sud, as well as digital content both on the research activities of Paris-Saclay and for all users of the communities
  • Activities in pursuit of technological, educational and cultural innovation,
  • Diagonale Paris-Saclay, the University "science and society" unit
  • cutting-edge services and facilities to foster cooperation between all fields of knowledge.

The Spanish international prize of architecture 2017 highlights the harmony between the architectural project and the new uses expected to take place at the Learning Center.

Destined to become one of the iconic places of Université Paris-Saclay, the Learning Center will facilitate exchanges and openness towards the different stakeholders of the Paris-Saclay region.
