The Université Paris-Saclay is inaugurating the creation of its « cordée de la réussite mutualisée » in the presence of Mrs Hélène Geoffroy, Secretary of State and In charge of city affairs. The Université Paris-Saclay, the institutions concerned and the several institutional partners, which all co-finance this cordée reaffirm their involvement in pluralism and equal opportunity politics.
Relying on the resources of the existing cordées since 2008 in the concerned institutions (CentraleSupelec, Université Paris-Sud, Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Université d'Evry Val d’Essonne, HEC Paris and Ecole polytechnique), the stakeholders have decided to create the Cordée UPSaclay, as a way to enable bonds between all the institutions, to share their experience and to suggest actions more diversified and new common projects.
This ambitious and innovative educational project aims to encourage young people, whatever their socio-cultural environment is, to access to higher education, including sectors of excellence.
1000 pupils from the Versailles and Creteil academies, in underprivileged environments, will hence benefit from mutual actions following 4 axis:
- Vocational guidance: meetings with professionals, privileged relationships with companies (visits, tutorship), thematic conferences, visits of the institutions of Université Paris-Saclay, exhibitions, etc.
- Cultural and scientific openness: visits of laboratories, science celebrating, theatre workshops, pedagogical innovation actions, etc.
- Methodological coaching: schoolwork coaching all year long with tutors and teachers, budget workshop, etc.
- Cohesion: meetings around sportive and cultural entertainments in the institutions of the Université.
The prefecture of Essonne, the Commissariat Général à l’Egalité des Territoires, the rectorat of Versailles and the rectorat of Créteil, the Fondation de l’Ecole polytechnique, the city Ulis, the communauté d’agglomération Grand Paris Sud – Seine Essonne Sénart, the region Ile-de-France and the département de l’Essonne contribute, together with the Université Paris-Saclay members, to the funding of the year 2016-2017 of this cordée.
