Université Paris-Saclay takes over the CESAER membership from one of its founding institutions, CentraleSupélec, member of this prestigious network since its foundation in 1990

United in the stunning congress halls of Politehnica University of Bucharest on 18-20 October 2018, the members of the Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research held its 31 General Assembly.

CESAER was founded in 1990 and unites 52 leading European universities of science & technology in 26 countries. It champions excellence in higher education, training, research and innovation, influences the European debate, contributes to the realization of open knowledge societies, and delivers significant scientific, economic, social and societal impact.

This congress was particularly important for Université Paris-Saclay, for the Board officially confirmed to President Gilles Bloch, accompanied by UPSaclay Director of International Development Guillaume Garreta and CentraleSupélec Director of International Relations Marc Zolver, its approval of an automatic transmission of CentraleSupélec’s membership to Université Paris-Saclay.

Also, the conference unanimously decided to select Université Paris-Saclay as the host of the next general assembly, which will take place on campus of Université Paris-Saclay and hosted by CentraleSupélec from 16-18 October next year.

The assembly will be held in parallel to another key event hosted on campus, which is the 30th General Assembly of the T.I.M.E. network (Top Industrial Managers for Europe, founded in 1989). T.I.M.E. brings together over 50 universities offering engineering programmes. Some of the networks’ members are common.

Thus, Université Paris-Saclay will be honoured to host over 80 prestigious universities in its premises to update them on the latest reforms of this forefront French university and discuss numerous opportunities for cooperation.
