The DESTINATION 2024 project is one of six projects coordinated by AP-HP (Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris) which have been selected as part of the fourth Hospital-University Research (RHU) call for projects in health, supported by the national Investments for the Future funding programme. Coordinated by Marc Humbert, the project aims to revolutionise the treatment of Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH), but also to encourage early diagnosis to improve the treatment of CTEPH. The research carried out as part of this project is focused on developing diagnostic tools and interventional treatment support, identifying new therapeutic approaches and gaining a better understanding of the micropathology of the disease.

The Congress Chair Award is presented annually by the European Respiratory Society to recognise outstanding contributions to the improvement of respiratory medicine worldwide.
