The Île-de-France Campus of Professions and Qualifications for Sustainable Energy (Campus des Métiers et Qualifications - CMQ) has just been granted
the label of "Excellence" for a maximum period of five years, by a decree published in the Official Journal on 22 June 2024. Coordinated by Université Paris-Saclay, the Île-de-France Academic Region (which includes the regional educational authorities of Créteil, Paris and Versailles) the Île-de-France Region and industrial stakeholders including EDF, Enedis and Schneider Electric, the Sustainable Energy Campus aims to address the region's growing demand for skilled professionals in the energy transition sector in the Île-de-France area.
It brings together a network of partners from business, training, higher education and research and is one of 27 Campuses of Professions and Qualifications to be awarded the label in June 2024.

The creation of the Île-de-France Sustainable Energy Campus is part of France's national low-
carbon strategy, which sets out guidelines for significantly reducing energy consumption and boosting energy efficiency in France. It meets the France 2030 objective of training for future professions, amid profound changes in the skills and qualifications required for young people
Contributing to the public interest, the Sustainable Energy Campus aims to:
- ensure top-level full-time academic programmes and jobs in the energy transition sector
- enhance the appeal of technical professions and promote vocational pathways
- address critical skills shortages for companies in the sector, including very small, small and medium-sized businesses.
By adapting professional qualifications for roles in the energy transition sector, from vocational certificates (CAP) to engineering degrees, and throughout Bachelor's-Master's-PhD programmes, the Île-de-France Campus of Professions and Qualifications for Sustainable Energy strives to boost employability. It equips learners with sector-specific skills and knowledge for a diverse range of professions.
The Île-de-France Sustainable Energy campus is structured around four key areas: nuclear; renewable energies; power grids, and energy systems. While it is administratively based at the Orsay University Technical Institute (IUT) of Université Paris-Saclay, the campus is a "distributed" campus and benefits from the exceptional industrial and academic environment of the Saclay plateau where it is physically based and where various educational programmes are taught. However, it has several flagship sites (including secondary schools, universities, university technical institutes (IUT), and industry training centres) allowing it to extend its reach throughout the entire Île-de-France region.
Coordinated by Université Paris-Saclay, the Île-de-France Academic Region (which includes the regional educational authorities of Créteil, Paris and Versailles), the Île-de-France region and the municipality of Montereau-Fault-Yonne, the campus also relies on a broad network of institutional partners such as France Travail and industrial stakeholders including EDF, Enedis and Schneider Electric. Professional federations in the electrical sector, the University of Nuclear Professionals (Université des Métiers du nucléaire), the Energy Transition Networks Schools (Écoles Réseaux de la Transition énergétique) and the Strategic Committee for New Energy Systems (Comité Stratégique de Filière Nouveaux Systèmes Energétiques), also play an integral role, with a special focus on supporting very small, small and medium-sized businesses.
