Born in 1955, Jean Bouyer graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Saint-Cloud (1975). He holds a PhD in Health Statistics from the University Paris Sud (1987). He was Assistant Professor at the University P et M Curie (1989-2005) where he led the CESAM (Centre for Education in Medical Applied Statistics). Since 2005, he is research director at Inserm.
He led the Inserm unit U822 (Reproductive Health, Sexuality and HIV infection) (2006-2009) and CESP (Centre for Research in Epidemiology and Population Health, INSERM U1018) between 2014 and 2015. He heads the Doctoral School of Public Health (Paris-Sud University and now Paris-Saclay University) since 2009.
Jean Bouyer is an epidemiologist and biostatistician. In collaboration with clinicians, he developed research in the field of reproductive health, including the treatment and prevention of preterm birth, ectopic pregnancy, infertility factors, pregnancy diseases and newborns health.
