Dean of the Doctoral School n°573 Interfaces
Born in 1962, François Hache graduated from Ecole polytechnique (X81) and obtained a PhD (1998) and an "Habiltation à Diriger de Recherche" (1997) from University Paris XI. He has been a researcher in CNRS since 1988 with the grade Directeur de Recherche de 1ère classe since 2011. He has been the director of the Laboratory for Optical Biosciences (Ecole polytechnique, CNRS, INSERM) since 2015. He is also Associate Professor in the Physics Department of Ecole polytechnique where he is involved in the development of master and PhD programs.
François Hache is a specialist in the nonlinear optical properties of chiral molecules. His researches yielded new time-resolved spectroscopic techniques based on circular dichroism which he applies to the study of folding dynamics in biomolecules. He was awarded the CNRS Silver Medal in 2011.
