The Université Paris-Saclay : strongly present in the European projects

The Université Paris-Saclay gathers a strong scientific potential in the research area and the training course. Hence, the 19 members institutions are significantly involved in the european projects.

1. The projects with the European Research Council (ERC)

  • Since the beginning of the Horizon 2020 programme, 54 projects have been funded:
    • 30 ERC Starting,
    • 8 Consolidator,
    • 9 Advanced,
    • 7 Proof Of Concept.
  • Under the Seventh Framework Programme, 104 projects have been funded:
    • 54 ERC Starting,
    • 5 Consolidator,
    • 38 Advanced,
    • 5 Proof Of Concept,
    • 2 Synergy

ERC typology

4 types of projects are financed by the ERC:

  • Starting: For researchers of any nationality with 2-7 years of experience since completion of PhD (or equivalent degree) and scientific track record showing great promise

  • Consolidator: For researchers of any nationality with over 7 and up to 12 years of experience since completion of PhD (or equivalent degree) and scientific track record showing great promise

  • Advanced : For researchers with up to 12 years of experience

  • Proof of Concept: is a funding scheme open to researchers who have already been awarded an ERC grant. Its purpose is to help ERC grantees explore the innovation potential of their research or support commercialisation of the results of their ERC-funded research

2. Others european projects financed within the Université Paris-Saclay

The members institutions of the Université Paris-Saclay are also involved in many other european projects, either as coordinators or partners. 3. Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs)

The European institute of innovation and technology (EIT) is the first EU initiative to fully integrate all three sides of the Knowledge Triangle (higher education, research and business) by way of so-called Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs). The Université Paris-Saclay participates in 5 KICs throught seven of its members institutions:
