Dean of the doctoral School n°571 | Chemistry: molecules, materials, instrumentation and biosystems
Born in 1970, Christophe Colbeau-Justin holds a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (1996). He completed a post-doctoral fellow at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin in Germany between 1996 and 1997, he was Assistant-Professor at the Institut Galilée of Université Paris 13 between 1998 and 2008, and stayed at the INTEC of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral in Santa Fe in Argentina as a visiting scientist from 2004 to 2005. He is Full Professor of Physical Chemistry at the Université Paris-Sud since 2008, conducts its research in Laboratoire de Chimie Physique (UMR CNRS) and his teachings at IUT d'Orsay.
Christophe Colbeau-Justin was Deputy Director of the Institut Galilée (2006-2008, Bachelor level), Head of the Chemistry Department at the IUT d’Orsay (2009-2013). He is responsible for International Relations at the IUT d’Orsay since 2013 and Dean of the doctoral School n°571 of the Université Paris-Saclay since 2015.
Christophe Colbeau-Justin is an expert in photocatalytic materials for wastewater treatment and hydrogen production. His research topics are: the elaboration of photocatalytic nanomaterials (surface treatment by metal nanoparticles), the study of photocatalytic mechanisms (Time Resolved Microwave Conductivity, TRMC), the setup of wastewater treatment reactors (batch and annular reactors). He is involved in several projects, as coordinator, implying international academic and industrial collaborations (ANR PhotoNorm, C’Nano and RTRA-Triangle de la physique projects, ECOS-Sud MINCyt program).
