FAQ Graduation Ceremony for the Masters in Mathematics and Applications class of 2023 - Graduate School in Mathematics

Practical information

 

The Graduation Ceremony for the Masters in Mathematics and Applications, class of 2023 will take place on Friday, March 29th, at 4 pm at the Michelin Amphitheatre of the Eiffel Building of CentraleSupelec, 8 Rue Joliot Curie, 91190 Gif-sur-Yvette.

You can find the address on Google Maps. For directions, please refer to the question "How do I get to the place of the ceremony."

Please note: You are invited to arrive around 3 pm as the ceremony is scheduled to start at 4 pm. If you arrive late, the organizing team cannot guarantee you access to the ceremony.


There are several ways to get to CentraleSupélec in Gif-sur-Yvette.

Please note:

  • The access code for the underground parking lot is : 9514 + E
  • As places in the parking lot are limited, please arrive early or use public transport.
  • There are currently many construction works on campus which means that your journey may take longer than expected.
  • You are welcome to attend from 3pm. 

BY PLANE

From Orly airport (about 1 hour)

  1. Take the ORLYVAL train to Antony
  2. Take the RER B train towards "Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse", and exit at "Le Guichet"
  3. Take the bus  (see access by public transport in the description below).

From Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport (about 2 hours)

  1. Take the RER B train towards "Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse",  and exit at "Le Guichet"
  2. Take the bus (see access by public transport in the description below).

BY TRAIN OR PUBLIC TRANSPORT

RER B from Paris (about 1 hour - 1 hour and a half)

  1. Take the RER B train towards "Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse", and exit at "Le Guichet"
  2. Take the 91-06 bus, and exit at "Université Paris-Saclay" or take bus n°9, and exit at "Moulon"

BY CAR

Information about registration


Registration is free but mandatory for you and your guest. This ensures that the Graduate School team can organize the event most effectively, taking into account the number of attendees for arrangements such as the cocktail party and distribution of goodies.

Each graduate is allowed to bring only 2 guests.

Program (ceremony timeline, getting your diploma,...)

  • From 3 pm: Welcome and seating in the Michelin Amphitheater
  • From 4 pm to about 6 pm: Ceremony featuring speeches, graduation announcements, on-stage photos, graduate testimonials, music, etc.
  • From around 6 pm: Distribution of diplomas followed by a cocktail reception

After the ceremony concludes, at approximately 6 pm, you will have the opportunity to collect your diploma. Each institution/component (UFR des Sciences d'Orsay, ENS Paris-Saclay, Université d'Evry, Université de Versailles, etc.) will have a booth where you can personally collect your diploma by providing a signature.

Please ensure to bring a valid identity document (passport or French identity card) with you for the diploma collection process.

At the end of the ceremony, the school administration will personally hand over your diploma, requiring your signature and verification of your identity.

For further information, refer to the questions "How do I know which institution my Master's degree belongs to?" and "I cannot come to graduation, how do I get my diploma?"

Remember to bring a valid identity document (passport or French identity card) when collecting your diploma.

If you are unable to attend the ceremony to collect your diploma, please get in touch with the school administration to inquire about the appropriate procedure.

No, there is no specific dress code; however, we expect attendees, both graduates and guests, to wear appropriate attire. Please choose clothing that is suitable for a formal event to ensure a respectful and dignified atmosphere.
