Public Law
Specialization in public law focuses on the functioning and organization of the State, in particular through constitutional and administrative law, as well as on the relations between legal entities governed by public law and private individuals. It offers a range of specializations via the various M2 courses in the field.
The program aims to prepare lawyers in public law, with general skills for some and specializations for others. One of the objectives is to offer a sufficient range of specialties to position the University Paris-Saclay as a hub for public law training. In order to attract a wide range of students, we also offer a variety of teaching methods. Our programs, which integrate professionals alongside professors and researchers, are designed to meet the needs of the national public law market and to train technically competent jurists who are open to the world and at ease in their environment.

The main areas of skill and knowledge covered are:
- In-depth knowledge of administrative, constitutional and institutional law,
- Mastery of public law sources, standards and principles,
- Capacity for legal analysis of administrative acts, public contracts and court decisions,
- Expertise in the legal management of local authorities (communes, départements, regions),
- Knowledge of the workings of deliberative and executive bodies,
- Expertise in local skills: urban planning, roads, environment, culture,
- Expertise in the awarding, execution and litigation of public contracts and concessions,
- Analysis, synthesis and drafting of legal documents (notes, consultations, deeds).
Learning outcome targets
Les formations de droit public se déclinent du M1 au M2 sous forme de M1 généralistes ou spécialisés et de M2 de spécialisation. Les formations articulent de façon harmonieuse les objectifs de professionnalisation et de recherche. Les formations de M2 sont en continuité avec les formations de M1. Les formations de M1 et M2 visent à dispenser un haut niveau de connaissance des domaines du droit public tant au plan théorique qu'au plan pratique. Les compétences acquises sont des compétences de juriste polyvalent, susceptible d'intervenir dans des contextes variés : entreprise, administration, cabinets d'avocat, bureaux d'études, magistrature, etc. Les diplômés peuvent être recrutés par voie de contrat de travail, de droit privé ou de droit public, mais peuvent aussi s'orienter vers les concours des fonctions publiques et des concours professionnels. Les formations fournissent à leur public les outils d'accès aux professions les concernant : méthodologie des concours, de l'entretien, du curriculum vitae, etc. Ces formations s'inscrivent dans une tradition éprouvée de spécialisation en droit public orientée vers un marché particulièrement riche en débouchés. En ce sens la mention droit public de l'université Paris-Saclay offre une dynamique de formation complète et attractive. Target audience
To be eligible for M1, students must have a law license or equivalent.
